Balkalyan Nagari is an institute for children who are survivors of natural calamities, victims of social apathy or orphans. POB members distributed goodies, stationary items and conducted recreational games for the kids at the institute. The members provided guidance to the kids and encouraged them to study hard for a brighter future.
The inaugural event started with a welome song and a lezim performance by the kids. This was followed by the lighting of torch by Para Olympic gold medalist who is also the MDCH member. Track and team events were conducted, this was followed by the prize distribution ceremony where the winners were awarded with medals and certificates. POB members also donated various sport equipment's and a cupboard to store the same.
Kharamba Pada and Ambivali Katkari wadi villages which lack the basic necessities like Electricity and water. Most of the villagers are poor tribals with limited access to food and clothing. Path of Bliss members distributed grocery and Blankets to the tribals of the village covering around 22+ families.
Path of bliss supported Sangopita a home for special children located at Bendshil with their basic grocery requirements. Also conducted a Karaoke event with the kids at Sangopita.
Distribution of grocery item to 50 families and activity for 50 kids
Over 200 patients were examined and prescribed medicines for their ailments. A team of Optometrists from Wasan Eye care examined the patients for power and cataract. Clothes and other material was donated to the villagers.
The camp started with a small inauguration program with lighting of the lamp and launch of the book 'Advent of mystery'. Path of Bliss handed over goody bags to each of the home girls. Gifted an upgraded desktop computer and a steel cupboard to the orphanage. Dr. Hitesh Vora presented a book "Autobiography of a Yogi" to Path of Bliss and to Anand Children's Home.The medical camp started with 20 doctors from Ghatkopar Medical Association examining hundreds of patients. Each team worked in perfect order and in unison to make the journey of the patient from registration to dispensing a pleasant one. Each of their problems were resolved by doctors supported by investigations like Haemoglobin, fibroscan, LFT, blood sugar wherever required. Around 300 patients returned happily benefitted with the medical camp.
Donated a recliner chair for Thalassemia kids to rest after blood transfusion. Conducted a drawing competition for kids and awarded the winners with goodies. Also arranged lunch and a take home gift for all kids. There is a dire need of blood donors as at time there is a shortage of blood at the Samarpan Blood Bank since some kids need blood transfusion every 15 days for survival.
Balanand is a home for orphaned, abandoned, relinquished and destitute children. Path of bliss members arranged games and snacks for the kids and supported them with notebooks and monthly medicines.
Our event started with a Sensitization Program conducted by Richa Vashista and Prachi, who are Clinical Psychologists in their own right. The focus of the talk was mainly on the unclear terms such as transgenders, sexuality, gender, gender orientation, gender identity, Hijra, male, female, lesbian, gay, queer, LGBTQ, SRS, homosexual, intersex, heterosexual, bisexual and question and answer session on the topic. The professional talk and dialogue ensured dissemination of the latest scientific knowledge and understanding on this ‘not much talked about Subject’. It also addressed doubts and apprehensions as well as helped break barriers of knowledge or acceptability within the participants. Ms. Unnati Lohade, Emotional Counselor from Nanavati Hospital gave a small talk on Hygiene for all including members of LGBTQ community. And this was finally followed with the long-awaited Dance competition for the LGBTQ. The evening ended with prize distribution and some snacks sponsored by POB.
Bharari Apangalaya is an old age home founded on 3rd December 1996 by Late Shree Vijay Pradhan, Late Mrs. Meena Veerkar and Dr. Anjali Apte. Path of bliss donated a 24-inch Panasonic TV, 2 ceiling fans, 2 set-up boxes and annual subscription for the same. 20 goody bags with lantern torch, napkins, biscuits were also distributed. We also arranged a singing activity and passing the parcel game along with the members of Bharari.
Jivan Asha which literally means 'Life of Hope’ has been instrumental in bringing optimism and positive growth to the many impoverished lives of senior citizens. It is an old age home run by "Society of the Helpers of Mary". Path of bliss members visited this old age home and donated groceries and toileteries. The senior citizens were entertained with a game of housie (tambola) and Karaoke singing.
